Aniimo Twining Guide
Twining lets you take direct control of an Aniimo and use its abilities yourself. Choose a form for the task in front of you: its attacks matter in a fight, while its mobility can change how you move through Idyll. Read the active form’s skill prompts after switching.

Start with the companion you want to control
- Follow the opening story’s Twining introduction, then choose the companion whose abilities you want to use.
- Use the Twine action shown for your current controls. Once transformed, check the new skill bar and movement ability before committing to a fight.
- Practice one attack and the form’s mobility in a safe area. Note which skills spend energy or stamina and which require a target.
- Use the displayed Untwine action when you want to return to Pathfinder form. The PC gameplay interface shows C for Untwine; use your own bindings if they differ.
Control the timing of attacks and defensive skills
Direct control lets you choose when to spend a skill instead of relying entirely on the companion’s AI. Start by reading the ability’s condition: an attack with a dodge benefit should be timed against an incoming hit, while a held aiming skill needs a clear target.
Emberpup provides a useful example. Fire Kick includes a brief invincible leap before a landing attack, and a successful dodge improves its follow-up damage. Fire Bolt can be held to aim. Practice these actions separately before trying to combine them under pressure.
If the team struggles to break an enemy, recover health or sustain skill energy, reconsider its roles rather than only changing the active damage dealer. DPS, BREAK, Heal, REGEN and Support describe different jobs; a form’s value depends on the encounter.
Check the actual movement ability
Twining is also an exploration choice. Inspect the mobility entry of the form you are selecting: its movement action and resource cost determine what it can help you do.
Basic-form Emberpup has Hustle, which spends stamina for increased movement speed. It is a travel option, but that description does not give it flight, swimming or a way through every environmental obstacle.
When a route remains blocked, identify the missing movement or interaction ability and look for a companion that supplies it. A higher combat stat does not substitute for the required traversal action.
Build a small practice loop
- Choose one familiar form and learn its basic attack, main skill and mobility action.
- Try the form against an ordinary encounter and watch both the target’s HP and Break bar.
- Switch when the task changes: movement, breaking an enemy and dealing damage may favor different companions.
- Afterwards, review which resource or role was missing before spending more training materials.
Quick Twine and timed challenges
The September 18 client fixes addressed Quick Twine and multi-form Aniimo failing to participate properly in the Susuta and Dr. Glass challenges. Use an updated client when comparing those challenges with older recordings. The basic Twining action and later Quick Twine features should not be treated as the same unlock.
